July 28 Update 1

Josh is in pre-op, getting ready for surgery. We spoke to the representative from Boston Scientific, the company that makes his ICD, and he answered all of our last-minute questions. Josh shouldn’t have any restrictions or change in his activity, once the device has had a chance to settle and the surgical incisions have healed.

We are running about an hour behind schedule here, which as you can imagine has Josh annoyed. He hasn't eaten since 7 this morning, so he’s tired and famished but otherwise in good spirits. He’s taking a quick siesta while we wait to chat with the anesthesiologist and then, finally, Dr. Whitehall, his implant surgeon.

Many thanks to Alana, Josh’s sister, and my partner in crime, Cheyenne, for being here with us today. And of course, thank you to all of you, too, for following along.

I will keep you updated as we go here.
